5TH GREASY SPEED 6 AND OPEN HOUSE A SUCCESS!

Thanks to all who made it out to our Feb 21st grand re-opening night and 5th Greasy Speed 6 Chess Tournament. Over 2 dozen people visited the club with 17 players participating in the tournament.

Results:

First place went to Clay Bradley with a score of 5-0-1.

First place U1600 went to Tom Cassar with a 4-2-0 score.

Our Junior prize went to newcomer Henry Mark with a score of 3-3-0. We were thrilled to have 4 junior players in the tournament and we look forward to seeing more junior players at club.

4th Annual Knights Chess Club Championship

The Knights Chess Club held their annual championship on 10/4-10/25/10.

Results:

1st Place Clay Bradley with a score of 4-0-0
2nd Place Jesse Anderson with a score of 3-1-0

1st Place U1600 Max Sewell with a score of 1-1-2
2nd Place U1600 Tom Cassar with a score of 1-2-1

Troy Fall Octos 2010

The 2010 Troy Fall Octos were held on Sept 25, 2010. 2 sections were formed.

Results:

Octo 1
1st Place Robert P Cousins with a score of 2-0-1
2nd Place Clay Bradley with a score of 2-1-0

Octo 2
1st Place went to junior Aashish Welling with a score of 3-0-0
2nd Place 3 way tie with William Lane Brown Jr, Michael L Beatini and Vincent Bradley Jr all scoring 1-2-0

Troy Summer Octos 2010

The 2010 Troy Fall Octos were held on July 31, 2010. 2 sections were formed.

Results:

Octo 1
1st Place John A Curdo with a score of 2-0-1
2nd Place Clay Bradley with a score of 2-1-0

Octo 2
1st Place Max Sewell with a score of 3-0-0
2nd Place tie with William Lane Brown Jr and Vincent Bradley Jr scoring 2-1-0

Simultaneous Exhibition by Grandmaster Eugene Perelshteyn - 4/5/09

The simultaneous exhibition by Grandmaster Eugene Perelshteyn took place on Sunday, April 5th, 2009 at Papagallos Restaurant in Keene, NH. Twenty Five players took part in the event, which was deemed by all a total success. At the end of the day Grandmaster Perelshteyn scored 22 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw. The winning players were Kira Storm, and Jesse Anderson, both of the Brattleboro Chess Club. Drawing Grandmaster Perelshteyn was Clay Bradley of the Knights Chess Club of Keene. Winning the BRILLIANCY PRIZE for best game was Kira Storm! All three games will be posted shortly within the Game Display Showcase at the KCC website.

Dave Kochman Receives A Brilliancy Award

Congratulations to Dave Kochman!

Dave recently received a check in the amount of $100 from the Western Mass. Chess Association as part of a brilliancy prize for a game submitted in 2008. The game was played against Frank Kolasinski and is available for view within the Game Display Showcase at the KCC website.
